We encourage you to shop locally, but when you need to order online, we invite you to designate the Weatherford ISD Education Foundation as your charity of choice in the AmazonSmile program.

What is it?

  • AmazonSmile is a simple and automatic way for you to support the Weatherford ISD Education Foundation every time you shop, at no cost to you.
  • When you shop at smile.amazon.com, it’s just like shopping at Amazon.com, with the added bonus that Amazon will donate a portion of the purchase – 0.5% – price to the Weatherford ISD Education Foundation.

How Does it Work?

  • To shop at AmazonSmile simply go to smile.amazon.com from the web browser on your computer or mobile device, here.
  • Most products on AmazonSmile are eligible for donations. You will see eligible products marked “Eligible for AmazonSmile donation” on their product detail pages.

How do I sign up?

  • You use the same account on Amazon.com and AmazonSmile, but you have to sign up thru AmazonSmile and designate the Weatherford ISD Education Foundation as your charity of choice. Your shopping cart, Wish List, wedding or baby registry, and other account settings are also the same.
  • On your first visit to AmazonSmile (smile.amazon.com), you need to select a charitable organization to receive donations from eligible purchases before you begin shopping.
  • Amazon remembers your selection, and then every eligible purchase you make at smile.amazon.com will result in a donation to the Weatherford ISD Education Foundation.

WISD Education Foundation Celebration Luncheon

It seems like just yesterday, but it was March 6, 2001.

On that day, WISD Education Foundation Directors boarWISD EF Celebration Luncheon Inviteded a school bus and traveled to each Weatherford ISD campus to announce our first grant awards to 49 teachers funding 18 grant proposals.  The funding for the first round of grant awards totaled just over $43,000.

What a great day that was!  Teachers were laughing…jumping up and down…some were crying tears of joy…but all were so grateful for the support our community gives to our school district.

Since that day in 2001, the Weatherford ISD Education Foundation has awarded over $913,000 to Weatherford ISD teachers to bring innovative programs to our classrooms.  The Education Foundation provides the seed money for new programs and technology, giving teachers the opportunity to bring their state-of-the-art ideas to life. Our sights are set on awarding the one millionth dollar to our teachers this year!

Please join us on March 29th for a Celebration Luncheon.  Our WHS Health Science program will demonstrate the amazing Sim Anne we funding last year.  Guests will also have the opportunity to see the 2016 grant requests and join us in funding this year’s grant applications.

The luncheon is generously sponsored by SouthWest Ford so there’s no cost to attend, but RSVPs are a must.  Reserve your seat or table for 8 today!

RSVP by email to clagrone@weatherfordisd.com or by calling 817-598-2800.
